East Tennessee Children’s Hospital Launches Effective Leadership Coaching Program with symplr Assessments

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital sought to strengthen its leadership pipeline but faced challenges in providing personalized support and identifying development opportunities for new leaders, which created a gap in their onboarding process. To address this, the hospital turned to its existing vendor, symplr, and implemented the symplr Assessments product to gain an objective, scientific view of each leader's competencies.

By deploying symplr Assessments, the hospital created a structured coaching program with individualized development plans for its leaders. The solution from symplr delivered significant results, including a markedly lower turnover rate of 11% for participating leaders compared to the organizational average of 18%. In the 18 months after launch, 18 of the 19 leaders who went through the program remained in their positions, demonstrating the solution's success in improving retention and leadership effectiveness.
