A Symplr Case Study
Cone Health, a North Carolina health system with 13,000 employees and more than 800 vendors entering its care facilities, needed a better way to manage vendor credentialing and access. The organization wanted to improve patient, clinician, staff, and visitor safety while replacing a cumbersome process that made it hard to track vaccinations, background checks, and other compliance requirements. Symplr helped address this need with symplr Access.
Symplr implemented symplr Access across seven hospitals and surgery centers with 24 stations and towers, allowing vendors to scan badges for real-time compliance checks before entry. The solution streamlined check-ins, reduced access delays, improved communication between vendors and administrators, and increased compliant vendor check-ins while reducing exemption requests. Cone Health also used repurposed equipment to support the rollout and added badge printing to further strengthen safety and efficiency.
