ForrestBrown is an independent firm of chartered R&D tax advisers founded in 2013 and based in Bristol, rapidly doubling in size year on year. They needed to hire at scale without losing their start-up culture and to position themselves as an attractive, credible alternative to top 10 accounting firms while reducing reliance on costly agency hires.
We ran internal and external research to define an emotive EVP built around four pillars and the rallying cry “Share purpose. Feel proud.,” then created a fresh visual identity (hand-drawn illustrations + bird’s-eye photography), a human tone of voice, an employer brand book and a new careers site, plus branded collateral for events and campaigns. The results were strong: 69% of careers-site visitors were new, 9.08% bounce rate, +3m10s average dwell time, 9.15% conversion on “get in touch,” 377% increase in unique page views (1,276 vs 268 p/m) and a 425% rise in applicants via the website.
