The customer, HPE, required a secure AWS VPN connection and complex cloud authentication services for a hybrid cloud SAP solution running on their HPE GreenLake infrastructure. Their challenge was to integrate on-premises applications with AWS public cloud services in a highly secure manner that avoided less secure methods like pre-shared keys. HPE approached vendor Symphony Solutions for DevOps support to implement this.

Symphony Solutions implemented a solution using a private PKI within AWS to issue certificates for the VPN, alongside integrating Okta for authentication with VMware. Using Terraform and AWS services like KMS and EC2, they built a secure, maintainable infrastructure. The result was a substantial cost-saving solution for HPE that provided a reliable and secure connection for administrative tasks, impressing the client with Symphony Solutions' flexibility and customer-centric approach.
