Polyphoto, Italy’s market-leading photographic distributor, needed to shift from a pure B2B model to a B2C-oriented business while tying online sales tightly to its retail network. With only a basic corporate website and no digital strategy, the company faced the challenge of building a smart platform to support both consumer purchases of hard-to-find products and seamless collaboration with brick-and-mortar retailers. Polyphoto chose the Sylius platform (implemented with Webgriffe) to drive this transformation.

Sylius delivered a flexible, scalable e-commerce core that could be customized for merchant-specific flows and integrated via API with Contentful and Akeneo. The project realized more than 20% savings versus the estimated budget, improved site loading speed and average time on site, and enabled new retail features—retailers can now order on behalf of clients or offer in-store pickup—strengthening the online/retail synergy and boosting business for all parties.
