Case Study: PHPers achieves sold-out, flexible ticketing and reservation platform with Sylius

A Sylius Case Study

A Sylius-based ticketing system for PHPers Summit

PHPers Summit, the largest PHP conference in Poland, needed a flexible ticketing and event platform to handle rapid popularity growth and year-to-year changes. The organizers were frustrated by off-the-shelf software bugs and limited customizability that prevented implementing workshop registration, ticket reservations, and hosting the event site and store under one domain. As PHP developers, they chose Sylius (Sylius v1.1.0) as the underlying platform for its flexibility.

BitBag built a bespoke platform on Sylius, delivering an MVP in a few weeks that included a CMS, the conference web page with custom design, and a ticket-selling system; a ticket reservation feature was added within days and the PHPers team was trained to maintain it. With Sylius powering the solution, all tickets sold in the first four weeks, there were no customer complaints (a previous issue with the old system), and the organizers now have a scalable, customizable platform for future editions.
