Northumbrian Water Group taps into PCI DSS compliance and data security

NWG Business, a provider of retail water services, needed a PCI DSS compliant solution to securely take customer payments over the phone without disrupting service quality for its 110,000 business customers. They partnered with vendor Sycurio to implement its Sycurio.Voice product, aiming to protect sensitive card data and maintain a high-quality customer experience.

Sycurio implemented its Sycurio.Voice solution, which uses DTMF masking to allow customers to input payment details directly without the agent seeing or hearing them. This approach drastically reduced the number of PCI DSS controls NWG Business had to adhere to, from 406 down to just 14, while also minimizing the risk of a data breach and ensuring seamless customer service during transactions.
