One Family, the UK's largest child trust fund provider, needed a cost-effective way for its Post Office ISA customers to pay by debit card over the phone without creating a significant PCI DSS compliance burden. The challenge was to offer this service while removing the responsibility of handling card data from its agents and its telephone system. The vendor Sycurio provided its Sycurio.Voice solution to address this need.
The Sycurio solution ring-fenced the card data entry environment, integrating with a new voice recording system to allow customers to input details via their keypads while the agent stayed on the line. This successfully removed the entire telephone system from PCI DSS scope. As a result, customers gained a convenient payment channel, and One Family eliminated the compliance worry for its call center. The implementation was a success, leading to plans to extend the use of Sycurio's technology across other products.
