A Sycurio Case Study

Preview of the Consolidated Communications Case Study

Consolidated Communications calls on Sycurio to help mitigate the cost and complexity of PCI DSS compliance

Consolidated Communications, a major US broadband and telecommunications provider, was seeking to strengthen its security posture by safeguarding customer payment data and simplifying its compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for telephone transactions. To address this challenge, they partnered with vendor Sycurio to implement their secure payment solution, Sycurio.Voice.

The Sycurio.Voice solution utilized patented Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) masking technology to ensure sensitive card data is never exposed to contact center agents or systems. By removing its infrastructure from the payment process and routing encrypted data directly to a payment provider, Sycurio helped Consolidated Communications significantly reduce its PCI DSS scope and compliance costs. This provided the operational flexibility to rapidly shift to a work-from-home model during the pandemic and allowed the company to continue securely serving customers who prefer to pay by phone.
