Case Study: RNIB achieves PCI DSS-compliant phone fundraising with Sycurio.Voice

A Sycurio Case Study

RNIB and Sycurio cure the compliance headache of using homeworkers

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) faced a significant challenge in processing telephone donations while maintaining PCI DSS compliance. With a team of 140 home-based fundraisers, securing card-not-present payments was complex and logistically difficult. RNIB partnered with Sycurio to implement a secure payment solution that would protect donor data and be economically viable for the charity.

Sycurio implemented its Sycurio.Voice solution, which uses DTMF masking to allow donors to input card details directly via their phone keypad without the agent seeing or hearing the information. This made RNIB's homeworker program fully PCI DSS compliant, secured an annual gross fundraising income of around $8 million, and greatly increased donor confidence in the security of their transactions.
