Washington Property Company brings EV charging to their 1,600 apartment residents in LEED Gold fashion

Washington Property Company, a multi-family property owner, sought to meet its residents' growing demand for sustainable living amenities and achieve LEED Gold certification for its Solaire 8200 Dixon building. The challenge was to implement an EV charging solution that was both functional for residents today and scalable for future adoption, thereby supporting the company's core environmental ethos. They partnered with EV charging vendor SWTCH to address this need.

SWTCH, alongside installer Pangea Charging, delivered a turnkey EV charging system. The solution was praised for its ease of installation, user-friendly operation for residents requiring no training, and powerful analytics for management to monitor usage. The installation of seven SWTCH chargers provided the points needed for the building to vault into LEED Gold certification. Furthermore, the project's success paved the way for plans to expand access to EV charging for 1,600 of the company's 1,800 total units by the end of the year.
