How Washington Property Company Uses EV Charging to Foster a Sustainable and Resident-Centered Community

Washington Property Company, a multifamily property manager with a community-first philosophy, sought to meet its residents' desire for sustainable living by installing EV charging stations. The challenge was to implement a solution that not only supported current needs but also provided an easy path for future expansion as EV adoption grew among its tenants. They partnered with vendor SWTCH and its service provider, Pangea Charging, to address this.

SWTCH provided an intuitive EV charging platform and managed the seamless installation of seven initial chargers. The solution delivered significant results, including providing the data needed for the property to achieve LEED Gold certification, its highest ever. The chargers became a key amenity for attracting residents, and the detailed usage analytics made the system easy to manage. Due to this success, Washington Property Company is expanding the SWTCH solution to nearly all 1,800 units in its portfolio.
