Fairmont Royal York Integrates EV Chargers to Meet Guest Demand and Advance Sustainability Mission

The Fairmont Royal York hotel, an iconic Toronto landmark, faced a challenge in meeting the growing demand from guests for electric vehicle charging, as its single existing charger was insufficient. To enhance guest convenience and advance its sustainability mission, the hotel partnered with vendor SWTCH to expand its EV charging infrastructure.

SWTCH implemented a solution consisting of five high-powered Level 2 chargers installed in the valet parking area. This provided a valuable, complimentary amenity for guests, eliminating the need for them to find public charging and supporting the hotel's broader sustainability goals. The project, which was future-proofed with pre-wiring for expansion, grants the hotel visibility into usage data through the SWTCH software platform to inform future decisions.
