A SWTCH Case Study
A leading multi-unit residential buildings service provider was challenged by the logistical and infrastructure constraints of their 375-unit condominium, New Times Square, when trying to accommodate resident demand for EV charging. The condo board and property managers sought a solution to make the building EV-ready without incurring excessive costs for electrical upgrades. They partnered with SWTCH to implement its private charging model and load-management technology.
SWTCH implemented its intelligent load management solution, SWTCH Control, which dynamically adjusts energy use for chargers based on real-time building demand. This allowed for the installation of 21 private EV chargers with the capacity to support up to 40, all while avoiding an estimated $24,000 in electrical upgrade costs. The solution provided a future-proof system for residents and ensured the property became fully operational with at-home EV charging.
