Bruce Power Active Risk Manager (ARM) Keeps Bruce Power’s Nuclear Stations Powering Ontario’s Electricity Grid

Bruce Power, a major Ontario power provider operating nuclear stations, needed a more consistent way to manage project and business risk across departments. Its risk data was scattered across silos and managed inconsistently, making it hard to get a clear view of exposure and opportunities. To address this, Bruce Power selected Sword GRC’s Active Risk Manager (ARM) for its ease of use, scalability, and standalone implementation.

Sword GRC implemented ARM in late 2014, and it went live within three months. The solution gave Bruce Power visibility into all project risks, enabled aggregation across teams, and improved reporting through dashboards, charts, and tables without IT support. Around 180 users now rely on ARM, and the company reports better decision-making, stronger management buy-in, improved communication, and measurable time and cost savings by identifying opportunities to optimize schedules and resource use.
