British Nuclear Group Cleans Up with Active Risk Manager (ARM)

British Nuclear Group, a leader in nuclear clean-up, needed a consistent way to standardize risk management across its many sites, projects, and operating businesses. With over 700 active projects and nearly 10,000 live risks, the company struggled with inconsistent databases, processes, and reporting, making it hard to maintain a clear overall picture and report accurately to the NDA. Sword GRC’s Active Risk Manager (ARM) was selected to support this change programme.

Sword GRC implemented ARM across British Nuclear Group’s Management Services, project, and operational areas, giving the central team visibility while preserving accountability at the site and project level. The solution streamlined risk reporting, improved escalation of critical risks, and saved time by pulling reports directly into performance processes. British Nuclear Group expanded from 40 initial licenses to more than 130 read-write and 250 read-only licenses, showing strong adoption and measurable operational impact.
