Acquisition Portfolio Risk Management with Active Risk Manager (ARM)

The US Air Force Materiel Command faced the challenge of improving enterprise-wide risk visibility across a large and diverse acquisition portfolio, where better funding and resource decisions depended on understanding the risk profile of each program. To address this, the US Air Force selected Sword GRC’s Active Risk Manager (ARM) to monitor risks and support portfolio-wide resource allocation.

Sword GRC implemented ARM as a web-based, integrated risk management system, with training rolled out across most U.S. bases to strengthen life cycle risk management practices. The result was faster access to real-time, authoritative risk information across the portfolio, improved transparency for senior leaders, and streamlined resources, helping the Air Force better deliver programs on time, on budget, and with higher technical performance.
