The Ohio State University Spine Research Institute secures 10x Phase II funding with Switchbox

Switchbox partnered with The Ohio State University Spine Research Institute to address a major diagnostic gap in healthcare: the lack of an objective way to measure and assess neck and spine disorders. This challenge left clinicians, employers, and patients without reliable data for diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning.

Switchbox developed a digital health prototype using wearable IMU sensors to capture and analyze cervical spine motion in real time. The solution included a custom software application, data capture tools, and specialized mounting hardware. As a result, the project successfully met all Phase I grant requirements for the Department of Defense and secured 10x follow-on Phase II funding for commercialization from Switchbox.
