XPO Logistics, a top‑ten global transport and logistics provider operating in 31 countries, needed an automated deep‑freeze transportation hub at its Zellik, Belgium site delivered in a live environment with minimal disruption. Swisslog Holding was selected to provide a turnkey solution — building a new temperature‑controlled facility and installing a fully automated high‑bay warehouse operating at −25°C with six Vectura cranes, pallet conveyors, shuttle cars, vertical conveyors, voice‑operated VoicePick retrieval and automated pallet shrink‑wrapping.

Swisslog Holding implemented the solution in two phases, on time and within budget, and handed over a system that increased storage capacity, reduced operational costs, improved goods‑receipt efficiency and boosted productivity and employee motivation. The automation has produced considerable labor savings and gives XPO Logistics the flexibility to expand operations while maintaining reliable frozen‑food handling.
