A Swisslog Holding Case Study

Preview of the Stadium Case Study

Stadium - Customer Case Study

Stadium, a retail group operating about 160 stores across Sweden, Denmark, Finland and expanding into Germany, faced challenges securing product availability, reducing returns and administration costs, and gaining tighter control of its supply chain. To move from a push to a pull model and support faster e‑commerce growth, Stadium engaged Swisslog Holding to deliver an advanced automated logistics solution including a new distribution centre, WMS and material handling automation.

Swisslog Holding designed and commissioned a 60,000 m2 DC in 12 months featuring a 26,000‑pallet VNA buffer, ~30,000 picking locations, a 2,000 m light‑goods conveyor with 52 picking stations and a dedicated cross‑dock. The solution enabled daily deliveries to all stores, higher stock accuracy and sales margins, shorter lead times and lower admin, transport and warehousing costs; notably the cross‑dock reduced handling cost to about 25% of ordinary warehousing, while improving safety and supporting Stadium’s e‑commerce growth.
