Pepsi Bottling Ventures boosts storage capacity 61.5% with Swisslog Holding

Pepsi Bottling Ventures (PBV), the largest privately-held manufacturer and distributor of Pepsi-Cola beverages in the USA, sought to significantly increase storage capacity within its existing 54,000 square foot warehouse facility in Garner, NC. To meet this challenge, PBV partnered with vendor Swisslog Holding to implement its PowerStore™ automated pallet shuttle technology.

Swisslog designed and implemented the PowerStore system, which included its warehouse execution software (WES) for seamless integration with PBV's existing ERP. The solution enabled PBV to increase its storage capacity by 61.5 percent, allowing for the seamless distribution of 7,800 pallets. Swisslog's highly flexible and scalable PowerStore technology also increased throughput and employee productivity while avoiding the long-term inefficiencies of a traditional facility expansion.
