Preview of the Maxi Di Case Study

Maxi Di streamlines distribution with Swisslog using a 36,000-pallet automated warehouse

The customer, Maxi Di, a major Italian retailer, faced significant challenges due to rapid growth, which led to a completely filled main warehouse. This forced the company to rent several external warehouses, resulting in high rental costs and major stock and transport inefficiencies. To solve this, Maxi Di partnered with vendor Swisslog to implement an automated warehouse solution.

Swisslog implemented a comprehensive automated system featuring an overhead monorail for high-flow transportation and 12 Vectura cranes providing a 36,000-pallet capacity. This solution from Swisslog consolidated all goods into a single distribution center, which optimized stock and transport. The results for Maxi Di included a massive increase in storage capacity over a small area, the elimination of external rental costs, and improved operational accuracy and efficiency.
