Master Electronics speeds picking 3x with Swisslog

Master Electronics, a US-based electronics distributor, faced logistical challenges in its order fulfillment process, where a significant amount of picker time was spent walking. To enhance customer experience and improve efficiency, they sought a goods-to-person automation solution. They partnered with vendor Swisslog Holding to implement an AutoStore system.

Swisslog implemented an AutoStore solution featuring 80,190 bins and 35 robots, powered by its SynQ software. Despite integration challenges with Master Electronics' specialized ERP system, the project was a success. Within six months, the system achieved 80% utilization and resulted in picking times that were more than three times faster than manual processes, all while preserving the company's strong corporate culture.
