A Swisslog Holding Case Study

Preview of the Hama Case Study

Hama - Customer Case Study

Hama, a global supplier of roughly 18,000 electronic products, faced fluctuating SKU counts, broad and deep assortments, shorter product cycles and rising return rates that demanded greater speed, flexibility and efficiency in its intralogistics. Swisslog Holding delivered an integrated automated warehouse picking and shipping center—including SmartCarrier storage, an order line buffer and shipping buffer—that ties into Hama’s legacy systems to meet these challenges.

Swisslog Holding implemented a multi-channel automation system with two fully automated high-bay pallet warehouses, an automated carton and bin warehouse, a dynamic shuttle warehouse, conveyors, an order line buffer, shipping buffer and robotic palletizing with automatic shrink-wrap. The solution increased throughput and operational flexibility, enabling Hama to ship over 7,000 packages per day (up to 10,000 at peak) while keeping roughly half a million Hama items en route on any given day.
