Gries Deco Company cuts delivery time to 24 hours with Swisslog Holding

Gries Deco Company, a top European manufacturer of home accessories, faced a challenge in supporting its expanding DEPOT store business. The company needed to transform its intralogistics to significantly reduce throughput times and high logistics costs. To address this, they partnered with vendor Swisslog Holding to implement a new automated warehouse and distribution center.

Swisslog implemented a comprehensive solution featuring a high-bay pallet warehouse with 17,500 locations and a semi-automated picking system using 120 CaddyPick vehicles. This was managed by Swisslog’s SynQ Warehouse Manager software. The results were highly successful, with picking performance increasing by up to 40 percent. The solution enabled error-free picking and cut both delivery times and logistics costs in half, reducing throughput from 48 hours to under 24 hours.
