Coca-Cola automates palletizing to handle 1,000 boxes per hour with Swisslog

The customer, Coca-Cola New Zealand, faced challenges in its Auckland distribution center with manually assembling mixed pallets for diverse beverage products, a process that was unable to meet growing requirements for volume, speed, and flexibility. To address this, Coca-Cola partnered with vendor Swisslog Holding to implement an automated palletization solution.

Swisslog implemented its robot-assisted ACPaQ palletization system, which works seamlessly with a high-bay pallet storage system and a CycloneCarrier shuttle system. The solution from Swisslog uses KUKA robots to palletize up to 1,000 containers per hour, eliminating order-picking errors and enabling highly efficient delivery. This provided Coca-Cola with significant cost savings, increased speed, and the flexibility to easily scale operations to handle seasonal peaks in demand.
