Berggård Amundsen - Customer Case Study

Berggård Amundsen, a Norway-based supplier of electrical equipment to 24 outlets and numerous B2B customers, needed a way to handle large numbers of small SKUs and meet growing e‑commerce demand and next‑day delivery expectations without expanding its existing warehouse. To solve this, Berggård Amundsen partnered with Swisslog Holding to deploy the AutoStore compact storage and order‑picking solution, complemented by QuickMove light goods conveyors (Click&Pick®) for efficient replenishment and goods‑to‑person workflows.

Swisslog Holding installed an AutoStore system holding 10,400 bins, served by 12 robots and two pick ports plus ~60 m of QuickMove conveyors, and scaled the robot fleet as volumes rose. The installation fit the existing facility so Berggård Amundsen avoided building expansion, reduced labor and manual handling, shortened order lead times to reliably offer next‑day delivery, improved pick accuracy and handling capacity, and cut energy use; the system delivers about 200 bin presentations/hour. Swisslog Holding also provided system design, implementation, training and ongoing support.
