Antalis, Europe’s leading paper and packaging distributor, needed to expand and modernize its logistics capabilities in response to structural changes in the paper market and rising customer expectations. Antalis engaged Swisslog Holding to design, manage and deliver a small‑parts AutoStore solution, including planning, software integration and on‑site commissioning, while keeping the warehouse fully operational.

Swisslog Holding installed an AutoStore system integrated with Antalis’s SAP/WarehouseManager setup—18,000 bins, 10 robots and four work ports on a ~400 m² footprint—commissioned in three weeks and fully operational after eight months. The deployment increased picking efficiency by a factor of five, minimized picking errors and product losses, reduced forklifts and material‑handling devices on the floor, and enabled reliable same‑day/next‑day deliveries with easy scalability as Antalis grows.
