Alnatura - Customer Case Study

Alnatura Produktions- und Handels GmbH, the German organic-food producer, wholesaler and retailer, needed to centralize and modernize its warehousing after relying on direct deliveries; to build a sustainable, high-tech logistics center in Lorsch they appointed Swisslog Holding as general contractor to deliver automated intralogistics (including SynQ software, the CycloneCarrier shuttle system and Vectura stacker cranes).

Swisslog Holding implemented an automated high-bay pallet warehouse (commissioned 2014) with 31,392 pallet locations, nine Vectura stacker cranes and a 420 m ProMove conveyor, plus a CycloneCarrier shuttle warehouse (commissioned 2017) with 14,248 bin locations, 32 shuttles (up to 4 m/s) and up to 800 in-/outfeeds per hour, all managed by SynQ with SPOC and 3D visualization; the result is paper-free, scanner-assisted operations with seamless tracking, higher process reliability, faster troubleshooting and measurable increases in throughput and visibility, with Swisslog Holding providing commissioning, training and after‑sales support.
