Agile Cold Storage, a US-based company, needed to maximize storage capacity and operational uptime while reducing risk in its cold storage operations. They partnered with automation vendor Swisslog Holding to implement an advanced automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) using Swisslog's Vectura cranes and SynQ software.

Swisslog implemented a solution featuring its Vectura cranes and the SynQ warehouse management software, which was integrated with the customer's existing WMS. This resulted in a tripling of storage density within the same footprint, significantly improved throughput and operational efficiency, and a dramatic reduction in energy costs which came in at half of the original estimate. The project was completed on schedule with a flawless startup.
