The customer, a USA fashion retailer, faced a capacity squeeze in its main distribution center due to store growth and product expansion. To address this challenge, they partnered with vendor Swisslog Holding to implement a goods-to-person shuttle system using the CycloneCarrier product.

Swisslog configured a four-aisle CycloneCarrier system that stores 50,000 totes and is connected to a picking center by a 7,000-foot conveyor. The solution, controlled by Swisslog’s SynQ software, features dynamic routing to balance workloads across 44 pick stations, enabling each station to handle orders for 15 stores simultaneously. This provided the operational flexibility, increased storage density, and higher throughput required to meet the retailer's needs.
