The Telecommunication Company, an international telecom provider headquartered in Germany with more than 200,000 employees across 25 countries, was struggling with highly fragmented accounts payable operations. Each subsidiary used different IT systems, report formats, and monitoring methods, making the process inefficient and costly. The company worked with Swiss Post Solutions to centralize and standardize its accounts payable processing.

Swiss Post Solutions implemented a country-specific optimized, centralized accounts payable service that handled invoices from paper, email, and electronic sources, using four scan centers in Europe plus evaluation support from Vietnam. The new process went live in July 2014 and the global rollout was completed by the end of 2016, processing 1.6 million documents in 2016 with a 24-hour turnaround and a maximum 2% error rate. The result was significantly lower end-to-end process costs, faster processing, and improved quality across 25 countries.
