Swiss Post Solutions (SPS) worked with a leading Medical Technology Company in Germany’s diabetes unit, which was facing a sharp rise in demand after launching a unique medical device. The surge created order-processing bottlenecks, long delivery times, and growing customer dissatisfaction, while the company also had to cope with the paper-heavy and time-consuming nature of the German healthcare system.
Swiss Post Solutions analyzed the workflows and implemented a partial restructuring by outsourcing standard back-office revenue cycle management tasks, including order processing, cost estimates, patient data entry, invoice preparation, and document digitization. SPS set up a dedicated mailroom and handled administrative work from its Customer Contact Management site, while the customer retained direct customer communications. The result was more efficient, transparent, and flexible processes, freed-up internal capacity for sales and new services, and a model now being evaluated for rollout in other European countries.
