Award Winning Amos Implementation at Czech Airlines

Czech Airlines, the Czech Republic’s flag carrier, faced an outdated, fragmented MRO IT landscape made up of numerous isolated, single-purpose applications. Seeking a modern, fully integrated maintenance & engineering system to improve process efficiency, reduce maintenance costs and shorten ground times, the airline ran an RFP in 2007 and selected AMOS from Swiss AviationSoftware as the replacement solution.

Swiss AviationSoftware implemented AMOS in a 12-month project with a “big bang” Go-Live, delivered on budget and ahead of schedule, and supported a train-the-trainer program that prepared ~1,000 users in 2–3 months. The AMOS rollout replaced all legacy systems, integrated maintenance workflows (including an Oracle-Finance interface and a high-availability cluster), and produced measurable results: inventory stocks fell almost 14% one month after Go-Live, more than 1,000 users now manage MRO for 38 aircraft in AMOS, the project won “IT Project 2008,” and Czech Airlines anticipated a return on investment within about two years.
