The customer, RVO Health, faced a significant challenge with its software documentation. It was consistently the top issue identified in developer experience surveys, as outdated and difficult-to-manage documentation created technical debt and hampered productivity. Previous internal efforts to solve the problem were unsuccessful because documentation was deprioritized in favor of faster project delivery, leading to a critical need for a new solution. This led them to seek out the vendor, Swimm.

RVO Health implemented the solution from Swimm, which focused on integrating documentation directly into the developer's existing workflow and tools, such as the IDE, to drastically reduce friction. The result was a successful cultural shift where teams, particularly newer ones, readily adopted the practice. The solution significantly improved discoverability for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders, unifying documentation that was previously fragmented across different platforms. Swimm's tool is now used by nearly half of the engineering teams at RVO Health, with adoption continuing to grow.
