Enter ISP - Customer Case Study

Enter ISP, an Internet Service Provider founded in Milan in 1996, wanted a flexible object storage layer for both internal use and enterprise cloud customers. To stay competitive with large public cloud providers, Enter needed very low TCO per GB, pricing based on actual usage, and a solution that could run on commodity hardware without vendor lock-in. The company chose SwiftStack’s Object Storage Platform as part of its Enter Cloud Suite, built on OpenStack.

SwiftStack implemented a geographically distributed Swift-based object storage cluster across Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands, using low-cost Supermicro servers and 10 Gbps networking. The deployment delivered low per-use costs, no vendor or hardware lock-in, and support for both customer-facing object storage and internal snapshots/backups. Enter was running seven Swift nodes at the time, with 864 TB of raw storage and up to 288 TB stored by customers, and planned 20% annual growth.
