826 National, a parent organization for seven independent chapters, needed a unified system to manage fundraising and volunteers across its entire network. Their challenge was to implement a shared Salesforce solution that would serve all chapters, which previously operated on their own systems, while ensuring data privacy and accommodating different levels of organizational maturity. They engaged Swift River Consulting to implement the Nonprofit Starter Pack and Volunteers for Salesforce apps.

Swift River Consulting implemented a beta process with two chapters and the National office to navigate the complexities of consolidating the organizations. They established a robust security model to initially keep donor data private for each chapter. The solution automated the volunteer sign-up process and provided a shared database. As a result, 826 National can now automatically generate network-wide reports, development directors can coordinate donor outreach across chapters, and volunteer coordinators can track a volunteer's history even if they relocate to a city with another chapter.
