A Swift Navigation Case Study
Capra Robotics, a Danish company, was tackling the global issue of cigarette litter by developing an autonomous cleanup robot. Their challenge was achieving the precise, centimeter-level navigation required for the robot to effectively locate and remove small cigarette butts from sidewalks and paths, a task beyond the capabilities of standard GNSS systems. To solve this, they turned to vendor Swift Navigation and its Skylark Precise Positioning Service.
By implementing Swift's Skylark service, Capra's robot, Butty, achieved positioning accuracy of less than 4 cm. This high level of precision from Swift Navigation provided a significant performance increase, enabling reliable autonomous navigation. The improved accuracy allowed the robot to operate at a better velocity, which in turn made the entire process of locating and removing cigarette butts more efficient and effective.
