Toss Bank, a leading Korean online-only bank, required a secure and convenient authentication service to overcome the limitations of existing one-time password (OTP) systems. A major challenge was finding a solution that provided a consistent user experience across all mobile operating systems, particularly iOS, which was not supported by smart OTP technology at the time.

swIDch implemented its OTAC-based switch-OTP solution, which was embedded directly into Toss Bank's payment cards. This allowed users to authenticate high-value remittances by simply tapping their card on the back of their smartphone, a unidirectional process that worked on both iOS and Android. For the customer, this eliminated the need for a separate hardware token and manual code entry, greatly improving security and user convenience. For Toss Bank, the solution expanded their user base, reduced costs associated with hardware OTPs, and increased card usage and revenue.
