Case Study: Save the Children achieves a rapid 10-day emergency crowdfunding launch and full donor data ownership with Swell

A Swell Case Study

Preview of the Save the Children Case Study

A rapid response to an unexpected crisis

Save the Children needed to launch an emergency crowdfunding campaign in 2020 after school closures threatened food and learning programs for over 90,000 vulnerable children across rural America. They required a solution that could be built in days, let them retain full ownership of donor data and emails, and deliver customized campaign and donation reports for their finance team. Save the Children partnered with Swell and used Swell’s JavaScript library to build a custom crowdfunding microsite.

Swell designed and deployed the custom microsite in 10 working days, giving Save the Children immediate fundraising capability while ensuring donor data remained under their control and enabling scheduled, customized reports for finance. The rapid Swell implementation supported the nonprofit’s emergency response goals, provided a scalable ecommerce platform for future donations, and met measurable needs: live campaign in under two weeks and infrastructure to support programs reaching 90,000+ children.
