Girl's Inc. of Central Alabama, organizer of the 7th Annual Cajun Cookoff, needed an easy way for participants to create teams, capture new donors, promote competition, sell tickets and accept donations at an outdoor venue, and gather attendee information for future events. They worked with Swell Fundraising, using Swell’s event and team management platform combined with online peer-to-peer fundraising and an iPad app to support on-site transactions.

Swell Fundraising built an event website and team-management tools, enabled donor “voting” to credit gifts to specific teams, and provided an iPad app (with a simple hotspot) to sell at-the-door tickets and accept donations while capturing donor data. The results: 758 on-site transactions, 31,666 event website visits, 24 cook-teams, over 1,372 tickets sold with information captured, and $108,788 raised.
