Healthcare Workers in Manila Enjoy Safe and Convenient Commutes

The Toyota Mobility Foundation, through Toyota Motor Philippines, sought to provide a safe and reliable commuting solution for healthcare workers at Philippine General Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. With public transportation being limited and inconsistent, staff faced inconvenient and high-risk journeys to and from work. The foundation partnered with SWAT Mobility and used its Just In Time software to address this critical challenge.

SWAT Mobility implemented a demand-responsive shuttle service using its algorithm to generate efficient, custom routes based on passenger bookings made through its SWATBiz app. The solution provided door-to-door service with strict safety protocols, including social distancing and vehicle sanitization, and enabled contact tracing. The service successfully supported 135 healthcare workers with an average ride rating of 4.7 out of 5 and, most importantly, resulted in zero COVID-19 infections among users and drivers during the deployment period.
