Siemens Canada launches native mobile smart building app with Sustaira across 24 facilities

Siemens Canada, a major technology company, faced the challenge of making its existing building management platform, DesigoCC, more engaging and transparent for users to showcase the benefits of its sustainable energy infrastructure. They needed a way to display real-time data from sources like solar panels and electric car chargers to illustrate the positive impact of choosing renewable energy over fossil fuels. To solve this, they partnered with vendor Sustaira to create a custom application using the Mendix platform.

Sustaira built a native mobile application that integrated directly with the DesigoCC system, providing users with live insights and data analyses from Siemens' sustainable assets. The solution delivered the ability to view and compare energy usage in real-time, increasing awareness and engagement. This project established a foundation for future phases, including enhanced electric vehicle charging station functionality, all implemented by Sustaira to make sustainability interactive and actionable.
