A Suse Case Study
Viollier, Switzerland’s leading healthcare laboratory, needed a better way to manage and secure a rapidly growing number of virtualized Linux servers without adding IT staff. After moving to a virtual environment, the company found that manually patching its many SUSE Linux Enterprise Server instances was time-consuming and made it hard to keep track of vulnerabilities.
Working with SUSE and Adfinis SyGroup, Viollier implemented SUSE Manager for centralized, automated Linux server management. The result was a standardized patching process that reduced major update time from about 25 hours to 4 hours, an 84% improvement, while helping the company respond to emerging threats much faster and strengthen overall system security.
