University of Haifa - Customer Case Study

The University of Haifa, a public research university in Israel, needed to modernize aging IBM Power Systems and AIX infrastructure while meeting growing demand for analytics and better financial reporting. Working with SUSE, the university looked for a reliable, cost-effective server platform to support SAP applications and future SAP HANA-based reporting.

SUSE implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications on x86 HP servers with EMC and NetApp storage, virtualized with VMware vSphere and managed with tools like YaST. The result was a scalable SAP platform that reduced licensing and operational costs, cut manual administration, and improved decision-making with faster reporting, while freeing budget for other priorities at the University of Haifa.
