Unify, a global provider of unified communications solutions, needed a reliable, enterprise-grade operating system for its OpenScape applications while keeping licensing and operating costs low. The company also wanted a way to build customized appliances quickly for customers, and turned to Suse products including SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and SUSE Studio.

Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server to host Unify’s OpenScape Office, OpenScape Voice, OpenScape UC and HiPath 4000 solutions, and SUSE Studio to create portable, customized application stacks. The result was improved reliability, stronger security with automated patching, smaller system footprints, and faster time-to-market, while avoiding licensing fees and reducing operational costs for Unify and its customers.
