STIA Holzindustrie GmbH, the Austrian manufacturer of wooden flooring and panels, was growing rapidly and needed a way to improve operational efficiency without driving up costs. To support new services and closer collaboration with customers and partners, STIA worked with Suse and its partner ITdesign to find a scalable platform, ultimately moving from Red Hat Enterprise Linux to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop to streamline development, testing, and production workflows across STIA’s VMware environment. The migration delivered 99.9% availability for some applications, improved PostgreSQL performance, cut patching time from about 20 hours to 10 hours per month, reduced system administration time by about 20%, and lowered system administration costs by 10%.
