Case Study: SNS Bank achieves higher security, availability, and lower operating costs with SUSE

A Suse Case Study

Preview of the SNS Bank Case Study

SNS Bank - Customer Case Study

SNS Bank, one of the top retail banks in the Netherlands, needed a more flexible, secure, and cost-effective platform for its growing web-based banking services. With hundreds of servers to manage, the bank turned to Suse and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server to improve service quality, speed up deployment, and support its always-on Internet banking operations.

Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with prebuilt standard configurations and security models based on SUSE AppArmor, allowing SNS Bank to deploy new servers in under 30 minutes and strengthen application security. The result was higher availability and security for web services, plus a clear reduction in licensing and maintenance costs; SNS Bank also reported it could manage a large number of Linux servers with a small team and expects more of its infrastructure to run on Suse in the future.
