Publiacqua, a Florence-based utility serving over one million people across 46 towns, needed to modernize its aging, inflexible IT environment to support digital, mobile, and self-service services. The company’s manual, spreadsheet-based processes and limited system reliability were slowing field work, partner interactions, and customer bill payments. Publiacqua turned to Suse, using Suse Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications and SAP HANA to strengthen its core SAP landscape.

Suse implemented the new SAP environment with support from Tai Software Solution, and Publiacqua also adopted Suse Manager for centralized patching, reporting, access, and configuration control. The results included 99.9%+ availability for core SAP applications, improved stability and performance, and fully digitized operations that had been manual and fragmented. Publiacqua also launched mobile services for employees and customers, helping drive innovation and easier self-service.
