Pick n Pay, one of South Africa’s largest retailers, needed better control, flexibility, and manageability across its complex point-of-service environment spanning hundreds of stores. Its existing POS setup lacked the corporate-level support and centralized oversight the company needed, so it turned to Suse and SUSE Linux Enterprise Point of Service.

Suse worked with Pick n Pay and MarkeTech Technology Group to implement a centralized POS management solution with imaging and deployment tools for store devices. The rollout has already covered 64 clothing stores and is expanding to supermarkets, giving Pick n Pay better visibility into software versions and configuration, reducing maintenance effort, and lowering total cost of ownership through subscription-based support and reuse of existing hardware.
